Le Tour de Spice In the world of advertising specialties and corporate gifts, totally new products are rare. Le Tour de Spice has created a truly unique line of promotional spice products. Their Promo Spice Tubes offer a unique way to communicate your message and elevate your brand while their Spice Sets are a unusually useful corporate gift. Café Roya Café Roya is an expression of owner Roya's passion for gourmet food, good health and bringing romance to everyday life, and it was important for the branding to reflect her vision. The logo for this upscale sandwich shop is refined and elegant, with a distinctive black and gold colour scheme. There is a simplified version of the logo, as well as circular design that incorporates the tagline "food. heath. romance." The project also included a website, cafe signage, labeling and stationery. Jobs. Opportunities. Enterprise. J.O.E. (Jobs. Opportunities. Enterprise.) is a not-for-profit organization focused on innovative, community-based employment and job-training for adults with developmental disabilities. As the organization grew, they felt it was time to get serous about their brand identity. They wanted a logo that reflects their friendly, inclusive, funky, innovative personality. The logo consists of the J.O.E. acronym, the 'O' being a stylized coffee cup containing the full company name. For continuity, we retained their orange colour scheme, but chose a stronger tone and married it with a rich, espresso brown. Rounded graphic elements reference the logo as brand markers throughout various layouts, helping create a strong, distinctive brand identity. In addition to the new branding, the project included a website, brochure, stationery, and Facebook graphics. The Barking Oven This all-natural dog treat baker needed a brand identity that appealed to dog owners who are serious about their pets health and happiness. The Barking Oven bakes their own biscuits, cookies and cakes, not just for daily consumption, but also to celebrate birthdays and holidays. The branding had to be appetizing and lively. Incorporating graphic elements like the bakers hat, bone and paw imprint clearly identifies the focus of this new business. While the focus is dog treats, cat treats are also part of the offering, so a Kitty Corner logo was designed to coordinate with the primary logo. B Quilty Studio Retiring from a career in the banking industry provided Audrey Vrooman with an opportunity to explore her passion for quilting, particularly sharing her expertise and experience with other quilters to ensure they have everything they need to maximize their creative success. Her focus is shop owners, quilt guilds and quilters. I listened closely to her ideas to design a brand identity and website that reflects her creative vision for a look that creative quilters would find engaging. The Bayview Diner This new Italian American restaurant in Bronx, NY wanted a logo that exuded a homey warmth and comfort. The hand-painted, exterior sign was already in place, so it became the starting point for the branding, as well as the overall style of the website. The intuitive layout makes it easy for customers to find at the information they need quickly – menu, location and how to make a reservation. Appetizing banner images are cost-effective stock photography, but perfect reflect the cuisine and menu.
McGill Photography Brand Identity and Website McGill Photography specializes in commercial photography for advertising and marketing; including product, people, corporate, industrial and architectural. Cam McGill's unique perspective gives him an ability to capture any person, place or thing to its best advantage. He’s earned a reputation as one of the best commercial photographers in Southern Ontario. The goal was to reflect the premium nature of his service in a way that appeals to professional clients. Johnny Rivers Brand Identity and Promotion This ReMax agent sells under his own brand, with the tagline "Rivers Delivers." The strong, fresh, colour scheme and bold, distinctive graphic elements reflect Johnny Rivers' commitment to "A Fresh Approach to Buying or Selling Your Home " In addition to branding, the project included a mailer, ads, business cards, a poster and for sale and open house signs. The new graphic standard are closely followed, so each piece reinforces the next to build a strong, memorable brand identity.
A+A Electrical Contracting A clean, distinctive look for this new business. The "lettermark" symbol is based on the surnames of the two owners. This branding project included the logo, stationery, signage, van graphics and wearables.
Bisanz Agencies Branding and Website Bisanz Agencies LLC is a new independent sales agency distributing American Income Life Insurance Company products in the State’s of Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New Jersey. The agency is all about people reaching their career goals and president Ryan Bisanz wanted a brand identity that reflected their mission. The symbol within the logo is made up of stylized people reaching upward and the type treatment is refined and distinctive. The fresh, new branding includes the tagline "Opportunity Without Limits." SBR Triathlon Launch This new business targets beginner or are a middle-of-the-pack triathletes. Coach Brian Scott helps clients reach their goals in the most effective and fun way possible. The branding, with its bold design, bright colours and familiar rings, reflects Brian's mission as the trainer. The name SBR stands for Swim, Bike and Run so I designed graphic elements that represent the theme and help build a strong, memorable brand identity. Dynamic stock photographs add visual interest to the website, Facebook page and flyer. Brian has been a good friend for over 30 years, so it was great to work with him on his latest adventure. Healing Touch Therapy Launch and Website Healing Touch is an alternative energy-based medicine that addresses overall health, believing that physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing is all connected. Practitioner Scott Kennel uses gentle touch to heal energy centers in the body to relieve pain and improve patient’s health. Healing Touch Therapy's branding includes a logo in soft blues with a stylized, touching hand. The brochure and website feature an abstract image that suggests energy. Business cards, appointment cards and stationary completes the consistent, professional brand identity for Scott's new practice.
Caron Family Law Branding and Website After a number of years in partnership, Heather Caron, an experience family lawyer, has set up a practice of her own. Heather sees her role as helping guide clients through the complex world of family law, supporting them on their journey, so they can move on with their life. It is important that her branding project a high level of professionalism, but also her creative and passionate approach to family law. The look and feel has to be welcoming and not intimidating. Distinctive brand markers, such as the double 'C' and angular elements, create a memorable brand identity. The website is welcoming, inviting and easy to navigate, with photography that depicts people in a range of family settings. The project also included stationery, thank you cards and office signage. Jon Witzel Contracting Brand Revitalization and Website When a logo is established and recognized, it's brand equity is valuable to the business it represents. A total redesign my be ill-advised. That doesn't mean there are not opportunities to revitalize and build on it's strengths. This was the case with Jon Witzel Contracting. The business was founded in 2008 and its reputation as a premium builder was associated with its logo. However, it's overall branding did not live up to that reputation. By refining the existing logo elements and type treatment, we were able to invest in its strengths and then build a much stronger brand identity around it's foundation. New stationery, ads and a website were created, all incorporating consistent messaging and brand markers, projecting an image that one that reflects the respected builder Jon Witzel Contracting has become.
DT Bicycle Repair and Service Branding The primary objective of branding a business is to make it memorable — you want people to think of you when they need your product or service. The unique DT logo is a bold "DT" with a bicycle silhouette riding by, alongside "Bicycle Repair and Service” in a simple but distinctive typeface. The branding is built around the theme “think DT." The key element is a graphic the shape of the bike illustration's wheels, modified to look like a thought bubble— a cyclist thinking of DT. To support the launch of this new business, I created a campaign around the "Think DT" theme, including a series of posters and Facebook meme's, as well as Facebook graphics.
Feversham Manufacturing Re-Branding and Website Faversham Manufacturing is a leading manufacturer of agricultural and custom conveyor systems, but their brand identity did not reflect the quality and innovation associated with their product. The new branding includes a completely new logo in a fresh, new colour scheme, as well as coordinating brand markers. These graphic elements work together to create a more complete brand identity that better reflects the company's aspirations. I created an all-new website, as well as a series of flyers, one for each of their target markets.
The Art Warehouse Brand Identity The Art Warehouse offers Paint Bar nights as well as private painting events custom designed for group team building or social goals. I designed a logo and brand identity for the Waterloo business, including posters, postcards, gift certificates, business cards and a redesign of their website.
Male Allies Branding Male Allies is a program of the Sexual Assault Support Centre of Waterloo Region. A logo redesign was not part of the centre's brand refresh two years ago, but this year I designed a new logo to complete their new look. The logo uses clear, crisp typefaces and integrates the centre's tagline, "Stand Up... Speak Out!" The word "Allies", along with the tagline, are emphasized with a fluid circular graphic. Repeating this circular element in various layouts reinforces both the message and brand identity. A pop-up banner, poster, pamphlet, directory ad, and business card were produced to incorporate the logo and brand markers to make their messaging more dynamic. Male Allies now has a more recognizable presence with which to effectively educate and communicate its message of standing up and speaking out against sexual violence.
Apex Lawn Service Brand Identity and Website This new, premium lawn service needed a brand identity that reflects it's positioning and the markets it targets. The client came with a specific idea, which included the arc shaped graphic element. The distinctive arc is not only a key component of the new logo, but also appears in a range of icons that appear throughout the website and will be used in all future marketing communications. This consistency creates a strong, memorable brand identity. The project included a website, social media graphics and stationery. Apex's online blog was branded as Apex Turf school, including a logo and the tagline "be an expert on your own turf."
New Brand Identity for SASC To coincide with their 25th Anniversary, the Sexual Assault Support Centre of Waterloo Region engaged me to design their new brand identity. The centre is commonly known by their initials, so SASC is bold and prominent in the new logo. The primary element is the circle, symbolizing a "circle of support." Bracket elements enclose the design, reflecting on SASC as a place of safety, while visually uniting the acronym with the full name. The brackets' spiral shape gives the design movement and suggests “moving forward.” The Pantone 2602 is a subtle change and slightly brighter than SASC's original purple. Redesigned communication materials, stationery, advertising, displays and signage were rolled out. The layouts repeat the circular elements and brackets for emphasis and added interest.
Artisan Walls & Decor Branding and Website This unique, new business specializes in custom wall design, including murals, feature walls and theme rooms. Their custom painting service also includes furniture redesign. For the Artisan Walls & Decor logo, they envisioned a design inspired by iconic, ivy league crests. However, the branding also needed to reflect the contemporary edge to their work. The website is simple and elegant, featuring professional photography and a design that perfectly follows their branding and launch materials. The look is both contemporary and classic. While the concise text provides the relevant backstory to their unique services, it's the the strong visuals that tell the story. Check them out atartisan-walls.com

Murray Leis Construction I designed the logo for Murray Leis Construction more than 25 years ago. It is a timeless design with a lot of brand equity, so a redesign would not have been a wise investment. Instead, we updated it with a new black and gold colour scheme and created the tagline, "Your Home is in Good Hands.". Davetherapy.com Dave Hanemaayer (aka Lazer Dave) is Waterloo Region's premier laser expert. I designed a complete Davetherapy.com brand identity, including a logo, stationery, brochures posters, web and Facebook graphics. The look is clean, modern and refined, in keeping with the nature of this progressive healthcare service. In addition to his primary branding, I designed a sub-brand logo, promoting the business using his "Lazer Dave" moniker. The fun, retro design positions Dave as the classic superhero in his field.
Regional Sealants and Waterproofing Regional Sealants and Waterproofing was a new company in need of a brand identity. I designed a logo, stationery, site signs and truck signs. I also created the tagline "The Quality Goes in so the Water Stays Out."
Tricity Pest Control I designed this logo to build brand-recognition for this established Southwestern-Ontario business. The design is simple and graphic, but distinctive and memorable as well.
